Glitter is Good

I’m nearing the end of my summer reading list, and most recently finished Waking up in the Land of Glitter. I read this for my book club, and we are a wonderfully diverse group of women so it’s rare that we all like the same book. For this one though, it was unanimous! We have one true crafter in the group (dedicated craft room and all), but even the non-crafty gals in the group loved it. But the coolest thing was what happened at our book club meeting.

Our book club leader had reached out to the author, Kathy Cano-Murillo aka Crafty Chica, to ask if we emailed her some questions would she reply. She did one better – she offered to call in to our meeting! Do you know how cool it is to have a published author call in to your book club? It’s like having a movie star visit your house – yes we were a little awe struck!

Kathy was amazing! So friendly and talkative – taking all of our questions and making us laugh. She has earned fans for life and we are all looking forward to her next book coming out in March 2011. Yes, Kathy, I’m sure our book club will be reading that one too. :-)

Oh…and she Tweeted about us…

And friended us on Facebook! Yeah, it was cool!

Honestly, the book was so good and I would recommend it to all my friends!

About Blah Blah Blog Girl

I am a woman with lots to say. My brain provides continuous commentary on everything going on around me. And because my thoughts are so varied, no single person in my life wants to hear all of them. But I need to get them out of my head in hopes to slow down the spinning, the constant words, the blah blah blah.

I think it’s super cool that she called and spoke with you girls. Now I almost wish I had chosen to read that one so I could have been there too with the awesome that went on.
